Interview with Brahmastra Band (Rock Band)

In Short about the Band
Brahmastra is a rock band which is established in the year 2059 BS. In the starting there were 2 members and now they have 5 members. They rocked the nation with their 1st song "Antim Lakshya". After a massive success of their past now they are coming once again with their second album. The name is not fixed but it will come in between Dashin and Tihar 2064.
In what you are busy these days?
We are busy in the recording of our new up-coming album.
 
What is the name of the album?
It is not fixed, we will fix it soon.
 
How many song are there in your new album?
It has 7 songs with different pattern.
 
When will it come in the market?
It will come in between the Dashin and Tihar.
 
Why you choose the name Brahmastra?
We found good meaning of it, so we choose Brahmastra as our band name.
 
How you introduce Brahmastra in short?
Its a rock band.
 
Have you played the concerts?
Yes, many.
 
Where have you played the concert more?
In Kathmandu.
 
Do you find any differences between the audience of Kathmandu and outside?
No too much but audience outside the valley support us much.
 
Are you fully supported financially by concert organizers?
Somewhere we have got full support and somewhere not.
 
Is educational qualification required in this field?
Obviously educational qualification required and we are student too.
Have you taken any musical training's?
Our family background is related to music which inspired us to work in music field. We have learn many thing from family and we have taken some training's too.
 
Is music your part time job?
No, its not. We will continue it as our profession.
 
Have you try to give something new to your audience in up-coming album?
Yes, of course.. We have try to give new taste to our audience.
 
Your two band members are changed. Why band members are changed in a band?
Band members are changed for different reasons just like opportunity, money and for more popularity because in a band he can not do a solo performance. And our band member are changed because they are trying for the abroad study.
There is piracy and due to this there is no earning so one artist lefts this field and another comes, in this way also band members are changed.
 
For which age group your songs are best?
We sing for all but teenagers likes our song most.
 
Your all the songs are recorded in Nepal, are you satisfied with the Nepali recording?
Yes we are satisfied in the recording from Nepal.
 
Have you got any feedback from your audience?
Yes we have got good feedback and support from our audience.
 
In which occasion you play concerts?
We play concerts in different occasions like events, festivals, musical programs and so on.
 
How many hours you practice daily?
About 3-4 hours daily in the evening time.
 
Any programs and concerts do you have during this festival season?
Yes, but we will not take participation in big events because our vocalist is changed and it takes time for us to be established.
 
Is music video essential?
People enjoy the song more by listening and watching both than listening only.
 
Does model attract video?
Model gives only a plus point to the video.
 
Does artist/band needs media?
Of course, a band/artist can't go ahead without media. Media is essential for artist.
 
Have you got any royalties from TV channels and FM stations?
Yeah there is a rule for it but we have not get it.
 
What about Remix songs?
Remix should be done in perfect way. People never try to listen the old songs. Remix of a song brings the same old song back in a new way and new taste.
 
Have you done copy from other artists?
We learn new techniques from them but we never copy others.
 
Any difference from 2059 to till now?
Yeah, we have found lots of differences from 2059 to till today.
 
How you become five from two?
We 2 got a chance to play a concert at new road festival. Playing concert by 2 boys... it seems little uncomfortable. Then we close friends gathered and form a band.
 
What you suggest for new comers?
Lots of thing to suggest but we like to say very few things in short here. Come with your own creation and with good practice
 
Have you done anything to stop PIRACY?
Not to much but we have suggested our contact persons to buy a original CD and cassettes. Government needs to be more active in it.
 
Any things to say at last?
